Hi, I'm Dom
I'm from Chicago, and my family works in the local trades. When I looked into water softeners for homes like the ones I grew up around, I kept running into the same thing: an in-home appointment first, and the price last.
So I set up Chicago Home Water to work the other way around. The price is published. I make the calls myself. The work is done by our plumbers, and every job has to pass a written checklist.
We're a new company. I'd rather tell you that up front than pretend we've been around for decades. If yours is one of our first homes, you get my cell number and my full attention, before, during and after the install.
Dom, owner
Why we publish our price
Because you should be able to compare before you invite anyone in. A posted price also keeps us honest: the number on this site is the number on your quote, unless something in your home changes it, and if it does, we show you what and why before you sign.
We can post it because we keep things simple. We don't pay a commissioned salesperson, we don't run a showroom, and we don't spend two hours at your kitchen table.
Why the name is plain
We named the company for what we do and who we do it for: water for Chicago homes. We're starting in the city's single-family neighborhoods, and we'd rather have a name that says what we sell than one you have to decode. Straight answers from someone local is the point.
Photos from a recent install we completed
Photos from our own installs, shared with each homeowner's permission.
Every home is set up a little differently. This one has a separate softener and carbon tank. What goes in yours depends on your water, and your written quote lists every part.
Things we won't do
A short list we hold ourselves to on every call and every page.
- Promise health results. We tell you what your water report shows and what a certificate covers.
- Tell you a softener removes lead. It doesn't.
- Send a salesperson to your kitchen table.
- Invent deadlines.
- Show reviews we don't have. When real customers leave them, you'll see them.
- Talk down other companies. Compare what's included and pick who you trust.
